Applications Department/Field Technicians
The Field Technicians of the Sarnafil Applications Department provide two key elements in the Sarnafil Quality Management System:
- The training of Registered Contractors
- The inspection of installations
When a project reaches site, the Sarnafil Field Technician is responsible for working with the Registered Contractor to progress the project to the final stage of the Sarnafil Quality Management System – the issue of the guarantee. This is achieved by visiting the site during construction, to check compliance with the project specification, inspect the quality of workmanship and generally work with the contractor to ensure satisfactory completion of the project.
Each site visit will be recorded on a Sarnafil Field Inspection Report Form and given to the Registered Contractor at the end of each inspection. In addition to providing the contractor with an onsite Quality Control record, the Inspection Report Form also provides a constant record of the quality of workmanship displayed by the individual fitters - an essential part of achieving an NVQ.
Lastly, when the Registered Contractor requests a final inspection, the Field Technician will again visit the site and be responsible for inspecting and signing off the completed project for guarantee.
Obviously, such an important role in the Sarnafil Quality Management System requires a lot of experience. Each of the Sarnafil Field Technicians therefore has a minimum of 5 years experience installing Sarnafil systems. From that broad base of practical experience, a newly appointed Field Technician undergoes a thorough 8-week training programme to develop the skills necessary to fully function as a Sarnafil Field Technician.
