SarnaPad Proprietary Paving Support Pads and Levelling Shims
When installing concrete paving slabs over warm ballasted or inverted ballasted roofing systems, the paving slabs should be installed on a proprietary paving support pad (such as the SarnaPad Paving Support Pad and Levelling Shim), to ensure a clear drainage run and to protect the membrane from damage.
Manufactured from high-density polyethylene for Sarnafil Ltd by Caro Ltd, the 180mm diameter SarnaPad Paving Support Pads provides a constant 5mm gap between each slab. This allows for surface drainage and raises the paving 15mm from the finished roof surface.
To assist in levelling the paving surface, the SarnaPad Levelling Shim (also manufactured from high-density polyethylene) can be inserted between the SarnaPad Paving Support Pad and the concrete paver. Each 2mm thick Levelling Shim can easily be broken into halves or quarters, allowing for the levelling of individual paving slabs. Where a greater degree of levelling is required, up to 10 Levelling Shims can be used or up to 5 SarnaPad Paving Support Pads can be fully interlocked and stacked.
