SBT Tube System
With the advent of the revised Building Regulations Part L 2002, the thermal bridging of a rigid steel fastener has to be taken into consideration and can add in excess of 10mm to the required thickness of the thermal insulation. To eliminate the need for this factor to be calculated, Sarnafil Ltd has introduced the pre-assembled thermally broken SBT tube fastener range.

The SBT System consists of the 15mm diameter grey polypropylene SBT
tube, pre-assembled to either an SBF-SQ3 fastener or a TI-Z10 fastener. It is suitable for use
with the Sarnabar 15/6, peel stop 15/6, Sarnabar 6 and SBIW-70 x 70 pressure plates in insulated system
construction. SBT fasteners must be installed with a TP10, TP19 or TP30 Installation tool, depending
on the length of the tube, to ensure correct fastener setting and to eliminate damage to the SBT tube.

The SBIW-70x70 is a 70mm square galvanised steel washer with rounded
corners for attaching thermal insulation. Suitable for use with the SBT tube system only, the
flat surface of the washer makes it ideal for attaching insulation board beneath adhered membranes,
as they reduce the ‘ghosting’ associated with normal plastic headed tube fasteners used for insulation
attachment. Requires one SBT fastener assembly per washer.

Sarnabar 15/6 is a 3mm thick linear bar used to
attach the Sarnafil
membrane in Sarnabar systems. The roll, formed from steel strips galvanised to EN 10142-FeP03GZ275N
Sarnabar 15/6, is pre-punched with 6mm diameter and 15mm holes, alternating at 25mm centres to speed
installation.

Peel Stop 15/6 is a 1mm thick linear bar, used at the perimeters and
angle changes of adhered systems, to prevent membrane peel at vulnerable roof areas. 2.125m x
30mm Peel Stop 15/6 is made from a roll, formed and knurled steel strip galvanised to EN 10142-FeP03GZ275N,
pre-punched with 6mm diameter and 15mm holes, alternating at 125mm centres to speed installation.

The SBT Row Termination Washer is a 105mm diameter galvanised steel
washer, for use with the SBT tube system only. Positioned at the end of intermediate perimeter
rows of Sarnabars or intermediate rows of SFT fasteners, the SBT Row Termination Washer is secured with
three fasteners per washer and prevents damage to the membrane.
