SarnaVert Accessories
To help ensure all forms of SarnaVert green roofing systems are properly designed and installed and taking into account guidelines published in the German FLL Standard*, Sarnafil Ltd have introduced a range of accessories specifically for these applications.

AquaDrain
AquaDrain is a 20mm thick protection and drainage
layer, for use in the SarnaVert green roofing system, or as a protection sheet. Manufactured from
recycled virgin polyethylene factory waste, with factory laminated 100 g/m² geotextile filter fleece,
AquaDrain is available in 10m x 1m rolls or 2.2m x 1m sheets.

Before installation of AquaDrain, all waterproofing works must be completed and a Sarnafil
Field Technician must have completed a satisfactory final inspection. The AquaDrain is then simply
installed on the roof, making sure that the 100mm overlap of the geotextile filter fleece is lapped
over the previously installed AquaDrain. At perimeters and penetrations, Sarnafelt Type T should
be installed 250mm under the AquaDrain and up the membrane upstand to ballast height. This will
protect the membrane from potential damage by the gravel ballast.

Gravel Stop
When designing a gravel ballasted, paved
or SarnaVert green roof, it is not always desirable to include a parapet wall or upstand to retain the
perimeter gravel ballast. In these situations, or where there are steps across the roof, a Sarnafil
Gravel Stop can be installed to retain gravel ballast.

Made from stainless steel, with a height of either 60mm or 100mm each, 3m length of Gravel
Stop is pre-punched at 50mm intervals, with a 35mm x 7mm hole to allow for drainage, while retaining
the ballast.
Stainless steel Gravel Stop is secured
in place by a 140mm x 150mm Gravel Stop Fixing Pad, made with either Sarnafil G/S or TG/TS, depending
on the system.

Inspection Chamber
The SarnaVert Inspection Chamber
is designed to facilitate the maintenance and inspection of rainwater outlets in a SarnaVert roofing
system, whilst protecting the outlet from potential blocking by the greening system.
Suitable
for use with Sarnafil G/S and TG/TS the 350mm x 350mm x 135mm, SarnaVert Inspection Chamber is manufactured
from vapour-hardened fibre-cement plates, coloured brown to minimise the impact on the aesthetics of
the roof.
