Guarantee Considerations
All companies offer guarantees for their roofing systems, but what exactly is covered and more importantly what is not?
Unfortunately many companies use guarantees as a means of marketing to achieve the sale, often reacting to market pressure to offer a headline term. However, does a long headline term mean the client is getting a good guarantee? All too often the answer is no. The complexity of small print ‘get outs’ hidden behind the headline term leaves the client thinking he has a long period of cover, but in fact the guarantee may not be worth the paper it is written on. Remember a guarantee is generally not put in place for the benefit of the client, but to limit the liability of the guarantor.
