Factors Affecting Roof Life
Most factors that affect the life of a traditional flat roofing system can be identified before potential problems become a reality.
With traditional flat roofing materials, the effects of UV radiation are all visible and recognisable; as are effects such as crazing, blisters, splits, slumping or water ingress through joints or details.
Building movement and poor workmanship are other factors that can affect traditional waterproofing materials and, left unattended, any one of these can ultimately cause the failure of the complete roof.
