Adhered Systems
Adhered Systems are typically specified for small to medium sized roofs.
For economical reasons, adhered roofing systems are suited to new or refurbishment projects, projects with a high aesthetic requirement and the reproduction of the appearance of traditional systems, such as Lead and Copper.
Other typical reasons for the selection of a adhered system include:
- Difficult access (such as inner city environments), where the Combination Adhered system excels.
- Projects that are overlooked, where the aesthetics are a benefit.
- Projects with a high internal humidity (such as swimming pools and laundries), where fastened penetrations are undesirable.
- Projects that have a decorative underside, where fastened penetrations are undesirable.
- Concrete substrates, where the noise caused by drilling is not acceptable (particularly in refurbishment), or the time taken is unacceptable to the programme.
- Substrates, where it is difficult to achieve a suitable mechanical fastening.
Types of System
Adhered systems can be specified as either a combination adhered system with mechanically fastened insulation and adhered membrane, or a fully adhered system with all elements fully adhered together. Regardless of the adhered system chosen, it will typically consist of the following:
- A structural deck
- Vapour control layer
- Thermal insulation
- Sarnafil G410-EL, Sarnafil G410-ELF or Sarnafil TG76-Felt membrane
