Mechanically Fastened Systems
Mechanically fastened systems are suitable for both new and refurbishment projects of any size. They are ideally suited to projects where wind uplift is high, fast installation is required or the attachment of the existing roofing system is unsatisfactory.
Other reasons for the selection of mechanically fastened systems include:
- Difficult access, such as inner city environments
- Where hot works are not permitted
- Where speed of application is critical to the programme
- Where an unusual roof design is required, a situation where the Sarnabar system excels
Types of System
Sarnafil roofing systems can be mechanically fastened using one of two different systems:
- The Sarnabar system
- The Sarnafast system
Both systems will typically consist of:
- A structural deck
- Vapour control layer
- Thermal insulation
- Sarnafil S327-EL or Sarnafil TS77-E membrane
In all cases, the number of fasteners required for the attachment of the system will be determined by the wind load calculation produced by Sarnafil Ltd, in accordance with the local regulations.
